Plum Crazy B&B is located at 2860 Harvard Road, in East Branch, NY, which is 3.1 miles north on Rt. 30 from Rt. 17/86 at exit 90. It is about 2.5 – 3 hrs from New York City.
To get here:
Take the FDR to Interstate 87 north. You will cross the Tappan Zee Bridge. As you do so, look left and you will see a nice view of NYC from a great distance down the Hudson. If you’re not hitting much traffic, you’ll be on I-87 for about 1 hour.
Take Exit 16 to get onto Route 17 West (future I-86). This is the same exit as the outlet mall (lots of expensive junk for sale). Go through toll booths. Stay on Route 17 West for about 1 hour and 15 mins. You will pass Middletown, Monticello, Liberty and Roscoe. Watch for deer and cops.
Take exit 90 to Route 30 North.
When you get off at exit 90 turn left under the highway and then right back under it. It will make sense when you see it. You’ll pass a Sunoco…that’s your last store, so buy any chewing gum/beef jerky that you require.
Go three miles on Route 30 North.
Voila…Harvard Rd is on your right…you will see a little church and that’s about it. Plum Crazy Bed and Breakfast is on the left about two houses down from the church.
Technically it is in the town of Hancock NY, but don’t be misled—the village of Hancock is actually about 15 minutes away.
Don’t speed by more than 5 mph . . . the speed limit is well-enforced in this area, especially on Route 17.
